Fly into San Jose International Airport: The closest international airport to Santa Teresa is San Jose International Airport (SJO). From there, you can take a domestic flight to Tambor Airport (TMU), which is located about an hour's drive from Santa Teresa. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle or private transfer from the airport to Santa Teresa.
Fly into Liberia International Airport: Another option is to fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR), which is located on the northwest coast of Costa Rica. From there, you can take a shuttle or private transfer to Santa Teresa, which is about a 4-hour drive away.
Take a bus: If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take a bus from San Jose to Puntarenas, and then transfer to another bus that goes to Santa Teresa. The journey takes about 5-6 hours in total.
Rent a car: Renting a car is a good option if you want to have the flexibility to explore the area at your own pace.
